Stayed the second time within a year and really enjoy the grounds and staff at Pala Mesa. The combination of a great restaurant, excellent golfing, and a somewhat secluded setting make this resort a great place to sneak out and be somewhere different and treated special.
We spent a couple of nights here...the property is lovely, but the rooms are old and are in serious need of updating. Very 80s and an old-smelliness to the room. There was a card in the room saying that they were getting ready to do a remodel in the coming year. Nice to know your plans, but it was like they had enough complaints about updating that they decided to put the note in the room to try and prevent reviews like this one. It needs an update, badly.

This hotel was perfect. They have a family suite with 3 queen size beds that is huge. The normal rooms are large as well. The rooms were clean, there was shampoo and kleenex in each room. A mini refrigerator with ice box, microwave and flat screen TV. The towels were actually of good quality.
Miral provided great service and was very understanding. The place was simple, clean and the rates were great. Amnenities were also available. You may think of it as the old Econo Lodge but its change.

After making reservations to stay here last year with a very kind receptionist - who made it clear we were within the 72 hour cancellation window - President Obama's unscheduled visit to Los Angeles virtually closed the Fallbrook Airport where we'd been planning to land. I called with 60 hours left before our arrival, and canceled the reservation. Not only had they already charged our card for the full weekend price ($119 vs $44 mid-week) - the owner/management never returned repeated calls - and they refused to offer us any refund whatsoever. I trust karma is taking it's course, and advise you seriously contemplate giving these folks your credit card info.
We attended a wedding across the street at grand traditions. We booked this room last minute and it was fairly expensive. The rooms are very motel styled and fairly dated, but clean and the reception staff were friendly. If your looking for a cheap place to stay if heading to grand traditions then this is one of your best bets.
